A couple of weeks ago, husband Brandon and I had a fairly interesting conversation about prayer. Specifically prayer for leaders. You know how when you're in church, you ALWAYS hear pastors praying for Dubya? Well, I don't remember anyone praying for Bill Clinton. Why is that? Is it my imagination or is it just easier for evangelical Christians to pray for someone they agree with? Anyway.
Also, there's this. Obama is going to pay for my gas and my mortgage!

HA! Trying to be objective here, I think she was trying to say she believes the economy will recover. But man! Word choice, people.
I think Nicole hit it on the head. Word choice.
It takes a lot to rile me up these days, since I figure extremists (of all varieties) have existed since -- um, forever -- and I think the only difference is that now we're subjected to their one-off sound bites in the privacy of our homes, repeatedly forwarded and downloaded via You Tube. It tends to create more hype than need be. Even I, an avid disbeliever in all things You Tube Mania couldn't stop watching this url about a week or two ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4wQfQtpDAc
The woman in the clip just OOOZES a peculiar mix of hate and religiosity at the same time. I couldn't help but try to dissect her nonverbals -- the distinctive way she speaks, her sarcasm and the way she rolls her eyes. It's FASCINATING. But ultimately, she's a minority position, and I'd like to believe crazy woman who misspeaks her gasoline/mortgage woes is too.
Dang. The video has been removed. That's so depressing.
Let me see if I can embed it. Dang. It won't let me. You may just have to take my word for it, but I'll see if I can find a site with the video still up....
It's true. Word choice was severely lacking. But, it would not surprise me if there were some who really think the president has THAT much impact on the economy.
I am so grateful that we have a God that is bigger than whomever is in power for a short amount of time. God worked through the bad kings in Persia and multiple other lands, he can work through Obama, no matter how incompetent I find him. That's certainly something to be thankful for.
I live in Atlanta...
My eyes are opened in very new ways. That's all I'm gonna say...
You should without a doubt read the Twilight Saga. It is much different than Harry Potter, but if you like HP, there is a good chance you will like Twilight. Twilight has a lot more romance in it, but there is a good amount of action too. I believe I like the Twilight Saga nearly as much as HP.
I haven't read any of Anne Rice's books at all, but I am considering it.
I haven't done any exercise in quite awhile...but I want to do the Stride for Stroke 5K in March because my hospital is a sponsor. It is also a goal of mine to do a Triathlon next year, so I need to get back into the habit of exercising! Life has just been so hectic for me, being nomadic and all, that I haven't yet gotten to incorporate this back into my life. What about you??
